This policy explains how Gold & Sage (we, us or our) handles personal information when you visit goldandsage.com.au, shop with us, create an account or contact us. For privacy enquiries, email admin@goldandsage.com.au.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, telephone number and billing and delivery addresses.
- Order details, products purchased, payment status, transaction references, delivery information and customer-service correspondence.
- Account details, product reviews and information you choose to provide in forms or messages.
- Technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring links, and cookie or similar identifiers.
- Your marketing preferences and records of consent or unsubscribe requests.
We collect information directly from you through checkout, account registration, enquiries and reviews, and automatically through website technologies. Payment providers and delivery services may also give us payment or delivery status information.
Why we use it
We use personal information to process payments and orders, arrange delivery, manage accounts, answer questions, handle returns and complaints, prevent fraud, secure the website, keep business records and meet legal obligations. We may use website usage information to understand how the store is used and improve its performance.
Where you have consented or the law otherwise permits, we may send product news or promotions. You can unsubscribe using the option in a marketing message or by contacting us. Essential messages about an order or a service enquiry may still be sent.
Payments and service providers
Our store uses WooCommerce, and card payments are processed through Stripe. Payment details entered into Stripe’s payment form are handled by Stripe; please do not email us card numbers or security codes. We receive information needed to confirm and manage the transaction, such as payment status and a transaction reference.
We share information as needed with providers that help operate the store, including hosting and website support providers, payment processors, delivery services, email services and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or to investigate fraud or protect legal rights.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The website uses cookies and similar technologies for functions such as your basket, account sessions and checkout. Where enabled, analytics and advertising services, including Google’s services, may collect information about visits and interactions to measure website and advertising performance. Some advertising measurement features may use protected or hashed customer identifiers to help match a transaction to an advertisement; hashing does not make that information anonymous.
You can manage cookies through your browser and manage Google advertising preferences through Google My Ad Center. Blocking cookies or scripts may affect the basket, checkout or other features. Browser controls do not necessarily disable every form of analytics or advertising measurement.
Overseas processing
Some providers, including Stripe, Google and Automattic/WooCommerce services, operate internationally. Information may be stored or processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where those providers or their service providers operate. Their privacy notices explain their own handling practices: Stripe, Google and Automattic. Contact us if you need further information about a particular service or overseas disclosure.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against misuse, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. No online service or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including order support, accounting, dispute resolution and legal recordkeeping. Information no longer needed is deleted or de-identified where reasonably practicable and legally permitted; some information may remain in backups until those backups are replaced.
Your choices, access and correction
You can contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, change marketing preferences, or ask for deletion of information we no longer need. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Legal obligations or other permitted exceptions may mean we cannot delete or provide every record; we will explain any applicable restriction.
You can browse much of the store without identifying yourself. We need sufficient contact, payment and delivery information to fulfil an order or resolve an order-specific enquiry. Any review you choose to publish may be visible to other visitors, so avoid including private information in a public review.
Questions and complaints
Email admin@goldandsage.com.au with your question or privacy complaint and enough detail for us to investigate. We will review it and respond within a reasonable time. If it remains unresolved, you can seek guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, including whether it can consider a complaint about your circumstances.
Updates
We may update this policy when our services or information-handling practices change. The current version and its update date will be published on this page.
